Introduction

Introduction of HtmlCapture ActiveX Control.

HtmlCapture uses the functionality of Microsoft Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox to take (capture) snapshots of given URLs. It hosts a web browser control to download web page and then capture it as image.

HtmlCapture is a small self-contained (no third-party dependencies) ActiveX control, so it can be used from any ActiveX-ready languages (comprehensive samples for the most popular provided). The basic usage is as easy as few function calls, but there are also many options and tuning possibilities. Developer has wide selection of options for "what to save" - the entire page or only a part, whether to include images, applets, objects and so on; as well as for "how to save" - numerous image formats available, both raster (bmp, jpg, tiff etc.) and vector (emf, wmf).

It can be used to convert not only webpages but also plain text files or Web Archive Format (*.MHT) files into BMP, JPG, GIF, PNG, TIF, TGA, PCX, WMF and EMF images. You can choose to capture the entire page, or a thumbnail image of a specified size, and save it to a local folder. And one of the most powerful feature of HtmlCapture v2.0 is that deleloper can choose either FIREFOX or MSIE as the rendering engine.

If you hope to
